Recent Developments
012025-04: Renewed attacks on Zamzam and Abu Shouk camps in North Darfur forced an estimated 400,000 to 450,000 people to flee again.
022025-10: UN officials warned that Tawila was hosting about 600,000 displaced people and that 260,000 civilians remained trapped around El Fasher as aid access stayed blocked.
032025-11: UN News reported that since the siege of El Fasher began in May 2024, more than 470,000 people had been displaced multiple times from camps including Shagra, Zamzam, and Abu Shouk.

Solidarités International states it was among the first international NGOs to return to Darfur after the April 2023 conflict outbreak and organize an emergency response. Its work focuses on assessing humanitarian needs and implementing emergency projects such as distributing water, hygiene, sanitation, and shelter kits; providing cash assistance; rehabilitating conflict-damaged water systems; constructing latrines and shelters; managing solid waste; and distributing basic commodities.
Première Urgence Internationale is part of the consortium responding to the Sudan war in Darfur and other conflict-affected areas. Its role in the integrated, multi-sector emergency response includes working alongside local civil society and other NGOs to support displaced and host communities through field-based humanitarian operations.
Trócaire supports Darfur through partnerships with Sudanese and international NGOs, including emergency response, child protection, food security, shelter, agriculture, and capacity building for displaced and host communities. In Darfur it has supported the Darfur Emergency Response Operation and partnered with local organizations such as Sudan Council Churches, SUDO, SPCR, and others to improve living conditions for internally displaced people and communities affected by violence.
Triangle Génération Humanitaire works in a consortium with Solidarités International, Première Urgence Internationale, and Sudanese civil society organizations on an integrated, multi-sector emergency response in West, Central, and North Darfur as well as Khartoum and other conflict-affected areas. The response is implemented by dedicated field teams and is designed to support displaced and host communities affected by war.
